Backflow Prevention

Backflow Prevention

Rohaley & Sons: Backflow Prevention Experts

Rohaley & Sons is certified to install, test, certify, and repair backflow preventers up to 2 inches in diameter. Backflow prevention devices are used to protect potable water supplies from contamination or pollution due to backflow. Water distribution systems are typically pressurized so that water will flow to the shower, kitchen, or bathroom fixtures. When that water pressure fails, like when a pipe bursts or there is higher than expected demand on the water system, that loss of pressure could allow contaminated water from the soil, storage, or other sources to be drawn up into the system.

Backflow preventers are usually attached to the water meter and are there to protect the water main, especially on commercial properties. It is basically a check valve or a series of valves that won’t allow water to flow back from the meter to the water main.

Rohaley & Sons installs or maintains backflow preventers on both residential and commercial properties. The cost is dependent on the hazard level and whether the system is above ground or below.

How do you know if you need a backflow prevention device on your water system? The biggest sign is that your neighbors all have them. Certain municipalities in Southwest Florida require them. When that happens, homeowners who don’t have them will receive notice that they must install them. Once they are installed, backflow preventers must be tested and certified every year or two to ensure they are working properly.

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
